We Visited the Greek-Catholic Museum


The Museologists’ Association of Christian Churches, the National Centre for Catholic Collections and the National Committee for Ecclesiastical Art and Monuments held their day of professional discussions in the Greek-Catholic Museum, Nyíregyháza on 16 November. Guided by Irén Szabó, Director, the experts coming from the country’s different parts visited the museum’s exhibitions, and they were introduced to the museum’s creation, collections and plans in an informal discussion. The participants were guided by Szilveszter Terdik in the chapel of the Seminary and then in the newly painted Greek-Catholic Cathedral in the town-centre. The results of the Lendület (Impulse) Research Group directed by Professor Tamás Véghseő were outlined in the afternoon. After that, the guests listened to a talk on the lifework of László Puskás given by Bernadett Puskás. Finally, Szilveszter Terdik reviewed his three art albums published in the past years. In the day’s programme, Péter Tanai museum-director and Tamás Dénesi archives-director represented the Archabbey.
