The publication of the volume is a shared achievement of the Monastery of Saint Maurice in Bakonybél and the Archives of the Archabbey in Pannonhalma. The abundantly illustrated volume publishes the edited versions of the talks of the millennial conference held in Bakonybél in 2019. The publication won the second-best prize of the competition “The Archival Publication of the Year 2020” announced by the Association of Hungarian Archivists.

The volumes edited by the colleagues of our Archives publish the results of the three conferences organized by the research group established for the sake of revealing the recent past of the Benedictines. The proceedings give a glance into the historic period of tribulations between 1945 and 1990 imposing restrictions on the Benedictine Order. The 33 papers written by the renowned researchers of the period serve the requirement of facing the facts of the past of the Benedictine Order as well.

The Bulletin of the Collections of the Archabbey in Pannonhalma, Collectanea Sancti Martini publishes papers discussing the results of the latest research focussing on the history of the Benedictine Order, the documents and material remains preserved in the Archabbey. The varied topics provide exciting pieces of reading for everyone.
